Lew Del Gatto,
baritone sax/arranger
(1977-1979, 1985-1995, 1998-2004)

 
 
 

Through three stints in the SNL Band ranging from 1977 to 2004 (a span of twenty-seven years), Lew Del Gatto was valued in the SNL Band as an arranger and saxophone player, eventually holding down the bari sax chair.

Lew is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, and has written and arranged a number of commercial jingles, including Ford, Coke, Pepsi, Folgers and Burger King. 

Lew's album, "Katewalk" (associate-produced by SNL Band alum George Young and featuring appearances by Randy Brecker and Steve Turre), is available from Naxos Jazz.
