The Blues Brothers Band
The following musicians were part of the band that backed John
Belushi and Dan Aykroyd for the
Blues Brothers act. Some
of these musicians were veterans of Stax Records, a major
influence on Belushi and Ayrkoyd in creating the group.
- Guitars: Matt "Guitar" Murphy, Steve "The Colonel" Cropper
- Bass: Donald "Duck" Dunn
- Drums: Steve "Getdwa" Jordan (replaced for the
"Blues Brothers" movie and soundtrack album by Willie Hall)
- Keyboards: Paul "The Shiv" Shaffer (replaced for the "Blues Brothers"
movie and soundtrack album by Murphy Dunne; more recently Leon Pendarvis
has played with them)
- Trumpet: Alan "Mr. Fabulous" Rubin
- Trombone: Tom "Bones" Malone
- Saxophones: "Blue" Lou Marini, Tom Scott
- Vocalist/Blues Harp: Elwood Blues
- Vocalist: Jake Blues

The 1998 movie Blues Brothers 2000 featured the original
band from the movie as well as Birch Johnson and Leon Pendarvis in
cameo appearances.
