1936 Yellow 733's 5258 and 5259 were spliced together in the early 1940's to create this extra length bus, known as Long John. The bus was later renumbered 5050. Note the ad on the side of the bus for Palisades Amusement Park, a popular destination with PSCT riders through the 1960's. It inspired a popular ad jingle, "Skip the bother, skip the fuss, take the Public Service Bus! Public Service sure is great! Takes you right up to the gate!" (Motor Bus Society Collection)
